Blackboard Has Been Upgraded to Version 8
On August 11, JMU Blackboard was upgraded to version 8.
Blackboard 8's initial appearance is similar to Blackboard 7.3. The
course menu content features and control panel are almost
identical in this new Blackboard release. Blackboard 8's major change
is the Grade Center, which was called the Grade Book in earlier
Blackboard releases.
The Grade Center has several improvements including:
-Print friendly report writing capabilities
-A new feature that allows instructors to enter a grade directly
into the Grade Center with one click
-Improvements to weighted and total grade calculations
-Improvements in grade calculations for averages and
minimum/maximum grades
-Greatly enhanced viewing capabilities that allow instructors to more
easily scroll grade center content
-Ability to email grade information directly to students
